The Dinosaur survival game ARK: Survival Evolved is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
Developer Studio Wildcard announced the news during the Epic Games “State of Unreal” keynote at GDC 2018 this morning, mentioning that the game will contain the exact same features as their Xbox One and Playstation 4 counterparts, albeit, with some graphical differences. Not much is known about the game at the time of this writing, except that the game will be released later this Fall.
“The Switch’s handheld mode provides a fantastic new capability for survivors who want to fully immerse themselves in the vast worlds of ARK,” said Jeremy Stieglitz, Studio Wildcard’s Lead Designer, Lead Programmer, Development Director, and Co-Creative Director. “With this new version, Switch players can go directly from hunting and taming while sitting on the couch, to forming online tribes and searching out new conquests when on the bus, waiting in line, or wherever they happen to be.”
As of late, Nintendo appears to be catching up with the third-party support, with Dark Souls Remastered, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and now, ARK: Survival Evolved all coming to the Nintendo Switch in upcoming months. Independent games such as the Banner Saga series, Undertale, and Lumines Remastered are also being released later this year.
ARK: Survival Evolved is available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, and soon, the Nintendo Switch.
