A brand new VR Thriller, Blind, is due to be released on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) in 2018, later releasing for the Playstation VR.
Developed by Tiny Bull Studios and published by Surprise Attack Games, Blind places the player inside a sightless woman as she faces her fears in the world using only echolocation. The game’s creators decided to create this game as a VR only titles, and thus the game’s design has been heavily informed by the unique experience VR provides. The story starts with a woman waking up in a strange room, with no memory of how she got there, and without her ability to see. She must use her cane to create soundwaves via echolocation to outline objects and the environment. This allows her to navigate rooms, solve puzzles and uncover the mystery of how she got in her current situation.
The game isn’t for the faint of heart as it combines psychological horror using only a couple of your instincts using Virtual Reality. Suprise Attack Games launched a trailer alongside the announcement:
Blind releases for the PC in 2018 and for the Playstation VR at a later date.
