Have you had a chance to try out Halo 5 yet? What about Skyrim: Special Edition? Well, have I got good news for you: Microsoft is doing a promotion this weekend where users playing on an Xbox One with an Xbox Gold membership are able to play these two titles for free all weekend (extending to April 15th). The only catch is that you will not be able to keep the games that you are playing for free past the 15th, meaning that you officially have a reason to take the weekend off.
Microsoft will also be offering base game add-ons for Skyrim all weekend—including Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. Players can also expect to see the game marked down 50 per cent until April 23, meaning if you aren’t quite able to speed run Skyrim this weekend you still have an awesome opportunity to pick up the title and play to your heart’s content. Halo 5, however, is also free if you are a Xbox Game Pass subscriber.
Halo fans can also spend this weekend getting excited for the Halo World Championship finals that are also happening until the 15th. The official website describes this event as being “a global competition where the best Halo teams from all corners of the Earth vie for their share of $1,000,000, and a permanent place in the annals of Halo esports history,” making it clear that you don’t want to miss it! Streams will be available at mixer.com/HCS, Twitch.tv/HCS, and MLG.com/HCS. Alongside this event, players will be able to purchase and wear their team’s colours in their Halo 5 games to show their support for whatever team they are cheering for this weekend.
