A new Tetris game has been announced, exclusively launching for the Playstation 4 later this year.
From the creators of Rez Infinite, Tetris Effect is a brand-new Tetris title, compatible (but not required) with Playstation VR headsets. Tetris Effect appears to take the form of a new art-direction for the Tetris franchise, featuring upbeat music and what can be described as a “psychedelic” effect. We have the announcement trailer below, so you can see exactly what we mean.
Tetris has seen releases across many platforms, ever since the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System version in 1984. Over the years, Tetris has seen many revisions, including the most recent Puyo Puyo Tetris released by SEGA for the Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. We should hear more about Tetris Effect from Sony’s E3 Press Conference on June 11th, at 6 PM PT.
