Nintendo announced the Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit, giving gamers vehicle-inspired cardboard creations to build and enjoy.
“Nintendo Labo is a collaborative and creative experience designed to encourage imagination in people of all ages,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We’re excited to offer a variety of fun gameplay experiences with Vehicle Kit, and look forward to seeing the creative Nintendo Labo community continue to grow.”
Labelled as “Toy-Con”, the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit includes parts to build a Car’s steering wheel, controls for a Submarine, a Plane, all of which are controlled with a Pedal for accelerating. The kit will also contain the Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit software complete with Toy-Con Garage, a tool that allows players to make their own creations using the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Joy-Con controllers.
Earlier in the month, Nintendo released an update to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, allowing players to use the Motorbike Toy-Con found in the Nintendo Labo: Variety Kit as a controller for the game. While nothing has been announced regarding compatibility with the Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit, we speculate that Toy-Con from the kit will be supported for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe upon its release.
The Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit releases on September 14th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
