A Nintendo Direct is going to take place on Wednesday, August 8th, focused around Nintendo’s upcoming title Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Direct kicks off at 7 AM PT, where the game’s director Masahiro Sakurai is planning to make some new announcements for his upcoming game. This may be a great opportunity to check out some of the game’s new technical features, as well as some discussion on what it’s online play will include.
In what is called the most ambitious cross-over to day, fans in the Super Smash Bros. community are speculating what characters/stages they will see in the upcoming title. King K. Rool (Donkey Kong), Simon Belmont (Castlevania), and Goku (Dragon Ball) are among the most requested characters surveyed from various communities, but it is unclear at this time who will make the final cut. With characters like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Bayonetta already included in the game’s roster, any character in gaming has a chance to make an appearance.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is scheduled to arrive on December 7th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
