Blizzard is reportedly preparing an announcement in the coming days regarding a Nintendo Switch release of their dungeon-crawler, Diablo III.
This rumor comes from Forbes (Via keen-eyed Redditor Riomegon), who posted an article earlier today revealing that Diablo III is coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. This adds more fuel to the fire as Diablo III was already heavily rumored to be in development by Blizzard Entertainment and now we have images and details from Forbes that confirms it.
This version of Diablo III is said to include all of the game’s expansions and content already released for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC versions of the game. It will also ship with exclusive content, including the Legend of Ganondorf Cosmetic Armor Set. The armor set will change the appearance on your character, resembling Ganondorf from the Legend of Zelda series. We managed to snag a picture from Forbes for your viewing pleasure:
The exclusive content also includes a Tri-Force portrait frame, a Chicken pet, and a new pair of cosmetic wings named “Echoes of the Mask”, presumably featuring designs from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
According to Forbes, Diablo III will support various multiplayer options. Either four-player cooperative play locally, 4-player wireless multiplayer with other Nintendo Switch consoles, or via Nintendo’s Online Service scheduled to launch in September.
Blizzard has yet to make an announcement regarding the game, but Forbes also mentioned that select members of the press were invited to attend an event to check out the game prior to the announcement. Either way, we may see an announcement later this month as Gamescom and PAX West take place in the coming weeks. Diablo III is already available for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC.
