There is a bunch of crazy technology going into Red Dead Redemption 2. So much, that even the animals have different behaviours.
Rockstar Games mentioned that there are around 200 animals in the game, each having their own personalities and behaviours. The wildlife reacts as they should, hunting their pray and trying to survive in the food chain.
In playing the game, players will likely find a taste of mother nature from peaceful settings to carnivorous attacks. A quote from the official announcement says it best:
“Deer, bison and pronghorn traverse the plains in large herds, scavengers quickly sniff out carrion, sockeye salmon leap upstream, wolves attack in packs surrounding their prey, geese fly in fixed formations, possums play dead, rodents scamper into tree hollows, grizzly bears bluff charge when threatened, and birds of prey soar on thermals. They all form part of a complex ecosystem and must continually fight for their place on the food chain. The wilderness is at once a bountiful and perilous place, for both man and beast, and any predator can quickly turn prey.”
Of course, hunting plays a role in Red Dead Redemption 2. Players are given the choice to hunt a variety of animals in order to gather supplies such as food.
There are 19 different horses in the game, each with their own characteristics. They can be obtained by capturing them in the wild, or by purchase at several in-game shops. Choosing the right horse is important for the many scenarios the player will be put in, so choose wisely when the game launches next month.
The development team appears to have put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best game it can be. Stay tuned for our review of the game closer to its late October release.
