Gearbox’s next Borderlands title is not what you would expect, considering rumors for Borderlands 3 have been circulating since E3 2017. No, the next Borderlands title in development is a remake of Borderlands 2, but for Virtual Reality.
Announced as an exclusive for the Playstation 4 and Playstation VR headset, Borderlands 2 VR will drop just before Christmas. The unfortunate part of this announcement is that it is a console exclusive, so PC gamers with the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive are missing out. Hopefully, we see a PC version drop in 2019, but Gearbox has yet to announce it.
As seen in the trailer above, players can now drop into Pandora for the first time in virtual reality. The game will retain most of it’s features from it’s original 2012 release, but will now include “Bad Ass Mega Fun Time“, a power that allows players to slow down time. You can take a look at the game in the trailer posted above.
Borderlands 2 VR arrives December 14th, 2018, for the Playstation 4.
