Update 2:52 PM: It appears that Blizzard does not have cross-network development plans at this time.
A representative from Blizzard told VG247:
“While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we do not have any plans to implement cross-platform gameplay for Diablo at this time,”

Original: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Playstation 4 owners may be able to dungeon-crawl together in Diablo III in the coming months.
Hell is arriving on the Nintendo Switch in early November and, according to Business Insider, the company is working on implementing cross-platform play with the consoles. During a gameplay demo, a representative from Blizzard Entertainment said that cross-console multiplayer is “a question of when, not if,” alluding to the feature being in development at this time.
Recently, Sony flipped the “cross-platform” switch on Epic Games’ Fortnite, allowing Playstation 4 gamers the opportunity to enjoy the game with Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile players. At the time of this writing, Sony has yet to announce support for other cross-platform games such as Minecraft or Rocket League, which currently support cross-platform experiences with Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC gamers.
