Zip-lines, planes, and now swords? Fortnite is pulling out all the stops when it comes to making sure season 7 is their biggest yet.
In a teased video this morning, Fortnite developer Epic Games announced that it will be adding swords to the Battle Royale. No actual details were given about the implementation other than, “Coming soon… a weapon fit for a King”. With a tiny teaser video showing a sword with a hole in the hilt, *cough* Infinity Blade *cough*, being pulled from the ground.
Swords could be an interesting addition the currently ranged combat focused game, adding a melee component. It is more likely to me that it will become a sort of troll weapon, in that while not actually being the most efficient way of getting a kill it will definitely give you a reason to spam dance next to your latest melee victim.
Fortnite season 7 is already underway, but no release date for the swords has been given as of yet. Play Fortnite on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
