Its finally happening! The third series instalment of the Science adventure series, the sci-fi visual Novel Japan Robotics;Notes Elite will be coming to both North American and European markets in 2020, as announced last year at the 2019 Anime Expo. After months and months of waiting, especially by myself, Robotics;Notes Elite is finally now up for preorder on Steam.
For those of you who do not know, Robotics;Notes Elite is a video game developed by 5pb. It falls under the popular Science Adventure series of visual novels and is the third main game in the franchise, which includes Chaos;Head(;Child) and the masterpiece that is Steins;Gate (El Psy Kongroo!). The game originally released exclusively in Japan as Robotics;Notes in 2012, the visual novel was first available on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
In 2014, the PlayStation Vita release saw the addition of “Elite” added to its title, along with a few improvements on the original game. The 2020 release for the west will be receiving the same game with its Japanese VA, but with English text, it wont however be getting the same overhaul with the animated scenes as we see in Steins;Gate Elite.
Where Steins;Gate had a focus on time travel, Robotics;Notes has you see what happens when a bunch of highschoolers decide to build a robot. You play as Kaito Yashio, a student at Central Tanegashima Highschool, and a member of the Highschools robot club. The only other member in the robotics club is Akiho Senomiya, who also is the chairman of the organisation.
Despite her attempts to persuade Kaito to help her with her ultimate goal of completing a life-sized robot called Gan-tsuku, he’d much rather just play video games all day. The game follows the usual visual novel game format, with multiple-choice conversations that shape the storylines and dicide the endings for you and the characters around you based on your choices.
