It’s been busy for the publisher Ubisoft as of late, especially when it comes to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. First, they announced on January 16th that they will be bringing a lawsuit against a group of DDOS attackers, and now they have revealed their plans leading up to the Rainbow Six Siege “Six Invitational 2020“, a limited-time event.
Taking place in Montreal, Canada (Ubisoft’s home) the Rainbow Six Siege “Six Invitational 2020” hosts one week of competition, where 16 professional teams vie for the championship; but players don’t have to be professionals in order to get in on the lead-up action. For a month beforehand (starting on January 15th, 2020), each week will have its own “playlist”.
It will be only during weekends (e.g. 1st week is Jan. 15th- 19th, 2nd week is Jan. 23rd- 26th). A new map, set in an Olympic-style sports arena co-opted into a training ground (and called Stadium) features a Kill Housewith references to other maps. You can check out all of the details at Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege website here.
And as if that weren’t enough, Ubisoft also announced the new Battle Pass for Rainbow Six Siege. This pass will have one Free track and one Premium track, with a total of 35 tiers on both tracks. This means 48 possible rewards for the competitors, including exclusive customization items in the “Road to S.I.” game mode. The Premium Battle Pass will cost 1,200 R6 Credits in order to access, or 2,400 R6 Credits for a 12-tier advantage and 30% of Battle Pass revenue will be placed in the “Six Invitational 2020” prize pool.
The Rainbow Six Siege Battle Pass is available to purchase from the game’s main menu; and for those entering the fray– Good Luck! Will you be trying out the battle pass?
