Dragon Ball is having its time in the limelight again, particularly when it comes to video games. With two games released in the past few months, one might think people would tire of their Goku. It appears not, as both Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot received good reviews and decent sales.
Released on January 26th, 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ was recently revealed as part of Evolution Championship Series 2020 (EVO 2020 for short) for the second consecutive year. And now Bandai Namco has announced a 3rd FighterZ Pass, the trailer for which you can see below.
The new pass will feature 5 new characters to add to the roster– only two of which have been announced so far– and some other changes. The two characters to be confirmed are Ultra Instinct Goku and Kefla. Kefla will kick off the new additions on February 28th, 2020, and if you have FighterZ Pass 3 you will be able to claim her 3 days earlier.
Ultra Instinct Goku doesn’t have a release date, but is assumed to release in Spring 2020. There is no set price. Earlier FighterZ Passes were $29.99 (for 8 characters) and $24.99 (for 6 characters), so expect a similar price-range.
Besides the handful of new fighters, Bandai Namco outlined a change to assists. Called “Z Assist Select”, this is an feature they hope will open up some opportunities for players. The option will allow you to select 3 assist moves per fighter, which they think will help alleviate two things– players selecting a character based solely on their assists, and leveling out potentially one-sided matches. Other small changes are imminent, but there is no actual statement on what these will be.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Are you excited about these latest character announcements?
