Rhythm games have come a far way. Games like Parappa the Rapper did what they could with the limited resources, and it worked for the time. Eventually Guitar Hero came along with its extra guitar peripheral and stole the show.
Then Rock Band upped the showmanship with a full instrument set, including drums. That was probably the last real innovation the rhythm genre has had– next to the game that was meant to actually teach guitar. But there are still companies making rhythm games, so the next innovation could be right around the corner. Or it may even already be here.
DJMAX RESPECT V is the PC version of the PlayStation 4 exclusive game from 2018. As a “culmination of every past DJMAX release” it boasts 161 unique tracks in the base game. It also introduces competitive online play for the first time in the series, supporting up to 7 players simultaneously. But for those who have tired of the songs it came with, there is new DLC releasing to help everyone get back in the groove.
Out now on PC, the two new explosive DLC packs for DJMAX RESPECT V are titled Trilogy and GrooveCoaster. They are available on Steam for $12.74— a 15% discount, for a week. Each DLC has more than 10 new tracks, bringing the total number of songs close to 200.
On top of that, both DLC’s come with special themed UI skins as a celebration for the launch. However, if that still isn’t enough, NEOWIZ has also announced that a third DLC, Trilogy Original Soundtrack (Remastered) is also available. A bundle that incorporates all 3 DLC is on Steam for the same 15% discount.
So while you’re stuck at home, might as well flex those fingers and get in the rhythm! DJ MAX RESPECT V and all of its DLC is available now on both PC and PlayStation 4.
