Ready to take a long hard look at the horrors of suburban life? Me neither, but thanks to the folks at Caustic Reality and Blowfish Studios that’s exactly what we’re doing. Infliction: Extended Cut has released for Nintendo Switch, and if you haven’t read our review yet, now’s the time to check the game out. Take a peek at the trailer below.
Infliction: Extended Cut is an update to the psychological horror game released back in 2018. It is set in the remnants of a suburban household, where some particularly nasty domestic even occurred. What was the event? Why are you there? Look for clues in the forms of letters, voicemails, and more, but be wary. You’re not alone in the house, and who or what ever is with you probably isn’t looking for a friendly glomp.
The trailer showcases the types of clues you can encounter, as well as the eerie jump between real world and something else. The place between places. Catch glimpses of the types of baddies you can encounter, and a horrifying baby as an added bonus. It also tosses in a cheeky Nintendo Switch scare, in case you forgot why we’re here.
Along with new content and additional endings, Infliction: Extended Cut also offers New Game Plus mode. New puzzles, shifts in the scares, and other goodies await those who just can’t get enough of spooky death houses.
Clinton McCleary, founder of Caustic Reality and mission designer at Blowfish Studios stated, “Infliction coming to Nintendo Switch is the culmination of a journey that began as a way to grapple with my fears,” adding, “We all bring our anxieties with us throughout our daily lives and now horror fans can also carry mine with them wherever they go on their Nintendo Switch.”
Yup, it ain’t enough to be scared in the safety of your house anymore. Take that horror, stuff it in your pocket, and pull it out on the bus for everyone else to experience with you. I apologize for the way that last sentence sounded.
Infliction: Extended Cut is currently available on the Nintendo Switch with English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and simplified Chinese language support. It also has plans to release on the switch in Japan and Hong Kong later this year. Infliction: Extended Cut is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for PC.
