During the Xbox Games Reveal event a new trailer for the psychological horror game The Medium was released. Titled “Dual-Reality”, the trailer dives in to many of the puzzles that come with their new dual reality game system.
The dual reality gameplay play exactly how it sounds. As you play, you’ll have to jump between realities to get through obstacles such as locked doors or gaps and even evade threats. This ability will also unlock many dark secrets and new threats for the player to face.
Interchangeable Realities
One reality is the real world and is distinguished in a blue hue; while the other more of a horrific aesthetic with a distinct orange hue. This dual-reality gameplay renders both worlds simultaneously, allowing the player to switch between the two realities the fly. The character’s appearance also changes as well, making the entire experience feel deep and contrasted.
The trailer also dives into a bit of the story elements and how the dual reality will effect the story. The main character is a Medium, which gives her psychic ability to see and live in a darker reality. The trailer hints at a very disturbing reality and secrets that will be uncovered, and a monster hunting her down.
The Medium is being developed by Bloober Team; and is releasing on the Xbox Series X & Windows PC via Steam in Holiday 2020.
