Cyberpunk 2077 has been a game in the works for many years, alongside quite a few delays. Now that the actual release is only 3 months away, CD Projekt Red has released some new trailers and gameplay to get the hype train going again!
Take Me Home, Cyber-Road
The first trailer, titled “Lifepaths”, reveals that you will be able to pick one of three backstories for your character; Street Kid, Nomad & Corpo. These 3 distinct choices will drastically alter your experience as the core of the stories will be entirely different.
Becoming a Street Kid will see you in a more gangster-like life, where you fight for a slice of the street and avoid the cops. As a Nomad, you will become more of a road-warrior; fighting for your disassembled family as an outcast entering Night City. Choose to become a Corpo, and you will run the life as a Blade-runner-styled agent working for a corrupt and shattering empire.
Cybernetic Weaponry
The second trailer, titled “Tools of Destruction” shows off a large variety of creative new weapons, types, gadgets & deep customisation options. If you can imagine it, there’s a good chance you can use it in the game – because there is a lot!
The trailer showcases everything from tech weapons to power weapons to even smart weapons & cyberware. All of these weapons classes work uniquely different from each other, and may impress even the most experienced FPS gamer. The big takeaway are the Cyberware enhancements, which are essentially prosthetic that transform into deadly melee weapons.
A Night In Night City
Alongside these new trailer, CD Projekt Red came out with episode 2 of their “Night City Wire” series. They go into some more details about everything previously discussed, as well as show off some development behind the scenes work!
One of the best takeaways from this episode is the development of some new music being added to the game. The name of the song that is shown off is called “A Like Supreme” by the artist Refused, it is also available to listen to now on spotify! Check out the new episode below for more info on the Lifepaths, Tools of Destruction and more!
