After the announcement of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain winning the Best Action/Adventure Game, Geoff Keighly announced that Hideo Kojima would not be able to accept the reward due to legal obligations.
According to Geoff, Kojima’s lawyers advised him that he should not participate due to the disputes going on between Mr.Kojima and Konami. This could be a result of the disputes going on before Metal Gear Solid V’s launch with Hideo Kojima leaving Konami and his name being removed from the game.
Hideo Kojima worked on the Metal Gear Solid franchise and it is truly sad to see Kojima not able to receive his award.
