With winter hitting North America and Europe over the next few weeks, people will be trapped inside even more. Turning to video games will be a way they can experience the outdoors without physically doing it. Of course, you’ll never slay a dragon or sneak through a decrepit mansion in your normal life (at least, most people won’t). But that’s where video games come in.
They let you experience things you wouldn’t do in real life. Like driving a rally car through twisting dirt roads in the middle of a monsoon. Dirt 5 is looking to transport (pun intended) the player to its race-tracks with as much detail as possible. Today the Xbox Series X gameplay trailer for Dirt 5 was released.
Gravel Travel
Much like the other Dirt games, Dirt 5 is an off-road racing game. It will have a variety of cars like buggies, trucks, muscle cars etc., and will also feature over 70 routes in 10 locations around the world; you’ll get to race on “New York’s frozen East River [and] under Norway’s Northern Lights.” The game will also have the usual modes– a four-player split-screen, a Career with a narrative (starring Troy Baker and Nolan North), an all-new Playgrounds mode, and player-made arenas.
As for the trailer just released, it shows the game running on an Xbox Series X. It will have “120 FPS, Faster Loading, and Greater Graphical Fidelity” than its lower-tier partner on the Xbox One. All three of these will be available on the PlayStation 5 version as well, but with Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers included. Better yet, anyone who purchases the game for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive the free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions.
Dirt 5 will release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. For PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One the game will release on November 6th, 2020. For Xbox Series X/S, it will release on November 10th, 2020 alongside the console. As for the PlayStation 5 version, there is no release date yet, but will most likely arrive before the end of 2020.
