The Medium has been a game of high interest for many; as it looks to introduce several creepy new elements to the horror genre. The primary aspect will feature you exploring the real world and the spirit world at the same time, as a monster called the The Maw hunts you down. However, a new trailer has revealed that The Maw will not be your only threat.
The trailer opens with dialogue from a spooked man; exclaiming that everything is falling apart, that he shouldn’t have listened and had let something into his home. It’s clear that this man has gone insane, as he argues with himself to shut up after claiming he couldn’t have done this; he then swings a hammer at the screen.
The environment shown is deteriorating with slimy tentacles growing everywhere; in hallways and in the fields by the house he occupies. In an unsettling twist, a giant multi-armed monster rises from the ground, as the man approaches it in a calm manor. “You better do it fast, or I will kill him” the man promises at the end.
The “threats” trailer has left fans with only more questions to speculate on. Who is this unnamed new character, who is he addressing at the end, what is the giant multi-armed monster? Assuming there are reasonable answers to these questions, fans will soon find out when the game finally launches!
Pixelated Dimensions
Being delayed by just a month, The Medium is launching exclusively on the Xbox Series X|S and PC vis Steam & Epic on January 28th, 2021. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass day 1. Developer Bloober Team has stated this new character will be portrayed by Polish actor Marcin Dorociński; and he isn’t friendly.
