If you are like me, you live tactical turn based RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, Front Mission and Fire Emblem. The new Fire Emblem Fates is right around the corner but this time it has 3 different versions. I wanted to know what was the difference between these games and now, I am going to share with you what I learned.
First, there is Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright; catered to a more casual audience. Its easier overall and focuses on the Hoshido kingdom, includes 27 exclusive characters, easier mission objectives, and you can replay any missions to grind for higher levels and loot.
Next, we have Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest which is catered to the veteran gamers. It takes place in the Nohr Kingdom, has 26 exclusive players, diverse mission objectives, and will have no mission replay ability.
Lastly, we have the 3rd version call Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. This will be a combination of the 2 and only in downloadable content form. There will also be exclusive characters to recruit and exclusive missions to obtain. It is not clear if Revelation will allow you to replay all missions or just the ones from Birthright.
If you are unsure of which version to get I recommend the following: If you have never played the series before, go with Birthright. This will familiarize you with the mechanics necessary to succeed. If you have played a Fire Emblem game before then go with Conquest or even both if you are a fan boy like myself.
