Fans of the mobile fantasy battle RPG SINoALICE and of the popular TV anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will be delighted to hear that both franchises will be coming together in a collaboration.
On January 25th, 2021, Pokelabo Inc. and Square Enix announced that the properties would be coming together to combine the “magical world of dragons, goblins, dwarves, ogres, and goopy slimes” from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime with the “dark, twisted fiction” of SINoALICE straight from the mind of Yoko Taro.
For those unaware of the story behind That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, it surrounds an ordinary desk jockey known as Satoru Mikami who whilst walking down the street is killed. Fortunately for him death wasn’t the end, as he was reincarnated into a slime in an alternate world.
Under his new name Rimuru, he sets out for adventure in his new world encountering dragons, goblins, dwarves, and ogres. Despite the differences between all the creatures, Rimuru is able to use his courage and wisdom to make countless new friends.
With the help and guidance of his new friends Rimuru establishes a new country called the “Jura Tempest Federation” where all creatures live together as equals. Unfortunately, many humans in this world don’t share the sentiment and are extremely hostile towards the creatures.
This crossover marks the first-ever simultaneous worldwide collaboration for SINoALICE. The characters from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are set to make an appearance in the world, along with a special story scenario throughout the duration of the collaboration.
