There is one thing plenty of gamers are asking for, and it looks like that mash-up is about to finally happen. Players who are interested in games like Harvest Moon can trade farming for raising blobs in a new Kickstarter game.
The new game, Ova Magica, looks to combine the collecting of Pokemon and the raising livestock of Stardew Valley. The twist? You’ll be raising blobs!
The game is a “farming and monster-taming RPG; the player moves to Clover, where they will help a sect of land flourish. But while the player works the land, they will also raise mysterious creatures known as “blobs”.
The blobs contain a bevy of abilities, from helping you farm to protecting you on adventures. The player will also form friendships with members of the local community, each with their own routines and interests.
The Kickstarter is currently ongoing, so if the game piques your interest, you still have the chance to donate. It will continue to run from January 26th, 2021 until February 25th, 2021.
For backers, there are some pretty neat things: like a special, limited physical edition of the game for the Nintendo Switch. If that isn’t enough, those who receive it will also “get a premium certificate to certify them as an original owner and backer of the game”.
The game is already at 230% of its goal, but there are still some stretch goals to make. There is already marriage and character customization, and next will be the chance to play with your blobs! How can you resist? Of course, players will use them to battle as well, much like Pokemon.
Ova Magica is on Kickstarter until February 25th, 2021, and is developed by a one-woman studio in Germany, ClaudiaTheDev; it is published by Top Hat Studios Inc. The link to the Kickstarter is here.
