With the debut of NIJISANJI EN’s first wave being a resounding success, as can be seen through their recent achievements, NIJISANJI is already looking towards the future. Their current goal is to expand this English-speaking branch. The newest additions to this group arrive on July 14th, 2021.
These new VTubers are the second wave of the popular NIJISANJI EN branch and will be acting under the group name of OBSYDIA. Be sure to check out the special debut teaser trailer below to get the first look at these new members.
The members are set to begin activities on their Twitter and YouTube accounts from July 14th. That is to say that their YouTube channel and social media will be available to be seen by the public; however, it won’t be until later in the week that we get to see their official debut.
Debut Plans
For the debut of OBSYDIA, NIJISANJI pulls out all of the stops with a whole event planned after the debut live streams. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s discuss these streams themselves.
The debut streams are set to occur on Sunday, 18th July 2021, taking the form of a relay where, as the name suggests, one stream starts upon the end of another. Each stream will take place on the respective member’s channel.
Now onto the juicy part, following the girls’ debut streams, they will join the members of LazuLight (the first wave of NIJISANJI EN) on the NIJISANJI English Official YouTube channel as part of the program “Breaking News! NIJISANJI EN「OBSYDIA」VTuber Debut Special Program | Hosted by LazuLight” at the following date and time:
- Saturday, July 17th, 2021 from 7 PM（PDT）
- Sunday, July 18th, 2021 from 11 AM（JST）
- Sunday, July 18th, 2021 from 2 AM（UTC）
As for the content of this program, it seems that the main focus will be discussing the first streams of the OBSYDIA group and acting as the place to watch their debut single for the first time.

Debut Single Details
As already mentioned, to commemorate the debut of OBSYDIA, they will also have a new single debut on the same day. By the name of “Black Out,” this single is set to release two hours following the start of the collab stream with LazuLight; this may coincide with when they view it on stream or may be immediately following the end of this stream. Whichever it is, we certainly can’t wait to hear it for ourselves. It will not only be released on YouTube here but will also be available across multiple music streaming platforms.
Now for a more detailed explanation of the people behind the songs. The primary writer and producer of this song are TeddyLoid. He is a well-renowned musician who has worked extensively across various genres, including, but not limited to, Jpop, anime, Vocaloid. One of his older works being “ME!ME!ME!” ft. DAOKO, which was hugely popular amongst the English-speaking anime community.
Since then, he has continued his activities officially recognized by Spotify as one of the five most played Japanese artists in 2016. In 2021 he even contributed to making the hit song “Ado – Odo,” which took the top of the iTunes Japan rankings and has become arguably one of the most memorable works in Internet music history.
This also wouldn’t be the first time he’s worked with Nijisanji as he participated in producing the recent album “PALETTE 003 – Virtual Strike (World Edition)“. For those unfamiliar with the “PALLETTE” series of albums, be sure to check out this article, where you can learn more about them.
While TeddyLoid certainly took the leading role in the production of this song, he wasn’t alone. NIJISANJI’s very own Ryushen (緑仙) worked on the lyric story, that is to say, the underlying story that is conveyed throughout the song.
Those unfamiliar with Ryushen are a “Liver” that debuted in 2018 intending to make friends. Due to their name, they are often confused with being Chinese; however, they are actually of Japanese descent. One of the most interesting facts is that their gender remains undisclosed even three years later.

So we’ve discussed the plans for the debut, but we’re still missing one key thing. Who even are OBSYDIA?
In this section, we’d like to briefly share the details of the group and the member profiles provided by NIJISANJI.

Profile: A sky dragon descended from the moon. She has a gentle heart hidden underneath her mischievous nature, like the glow of the moon on a cloudy night.
Rosemi Lovelock (ロゼミ ラブロック)
Category: Rose Maiden
Profile: A rose maiden raised in a beautiful garden. Pretty as a rose in a vase but a little sharp to the touch.

Category: Frost Penguin
Profile: A penguin who spent much time alone in the frozen sea has charm and complex emotions like the stormy sea.

Anycolor Inc. and NIJISANJI
This section is for those unfamiliar with ANYCOLOR Inc. and NIJISANJI or just those who want to get to know them better.
ANYCOLOR Inc. (formerly known as Ichikara Inc.) is a “comprehensive entertainment company” based in Japan. Originally founded in May 2017, they quickly made waves within the entertainment industry. Anycolor Inc has worked on VR programs such as Yumenographia, a VR service where you can spend time with someone from an extensive array of appealing cast members.
However, ANYCOLOR Inc. is most well known for its success within the VTuber industry. Not only limiting their activities to the place of origin, Japan, but they have also worked exhaustively on spreading the VTuber trend across the globe through NIJISANJI and other overseas VTuber projects.
ANYCOLOR Inc. has also undergone some recent rebranding (such as the name mentioned above change). This was brought about due to their beliefs that a company is built not solely by the said company but also the consumers. Therefore, they wish to “paint the blank canvas of the company’s future together. “
Nijisanji, the major corporation of ANYCOLOR Inc., is a VTuber program initially founded in early 2018 with the desire to “accelerate the beginning of the next generation of entertainment.” They were undoubtedly successful as they are now one of the largest VTuber agencies to date, with over 100 active “Livers” across various streaming platforms.
Nijisanji, although Japanese, has always had its eyes set on making VTubers more of a global phenomenon, looking to garner enthusiastic fans from various corners of the world. As of the time of writing this, they have succeeded in establishing branches in China, Indonesia, South Korea, and the recent establishment of the EN group LazulLight.
