It’s been a long road for Halo fans, but six years of waiting is about to pay off! On July 27th, 2021, 343 Industries began sending invites to the upcoming Halo Infinite Insider Flight, giving players their first chance to play Halo Infinite!
In preparation for the first Flight, 343 Industries heald a special Livestream showing off the contents of the flight! The goal of this Livestream is not only to reveal more details about the multiplayer but to set expectations for those joining the flight!
Vs. Bots
The first Halo Infinite flight is tackling online multiplayer a bit different than usual. Instead of standard PVP online matches, the game will feature bots on the opposing team. Thus, there will be four real players vs bots running from 343 Industries‘ servers.
Not only does this give players a fair chance to learn the game, but it’s also vital for initial tests. With lobbies only half-full of players, there will be twice as many matches going on, making for a perfect stress test. As the weekend progresses, the bot difficulty may arise.
The Test Flight will predominately feature bots within the new Acadamy training mode! Here, players can learn the controls and weapons while getting a general feel for bots! 343 Industries has recommended that new players check it out first.
343 Industries has also teased the possibility of real PvP servers going live at some points during the weekend. So assuming everything works okay, this initial flight may be offering more than was originally promised!
In-Flight Content
The flight will only contain a fraction of the final game, including a limited number of maps, modes and weapons. This will be the minor flight with the lowest number of people, growing as flights continue.
Twelve guns will be featured in the flight: MA40 AR, BR75, MK50 Sidekick, CQS48 Bulldog, Needler, VK78 Commando, S7 Sniper, Plasma Pistol, Pulse Carbine, Ravager, Heatwave and Skewer! These can all be tested at the in-game Acadamy, a training ground for players!
Only one map will be available at first, and as the weekend goes on, more maps will become available! Meanwhile, most of the guns that have been revealed so far will be in the flight.
This is only a taste of what is to come in future flights, and of course, the final game! Players are encouraged to report any bugs and issues to Halo Support to be fixed in time for launch!
Customizeation
Halo Infinite‘s first flight will feature a Battle Pass that players are encouraged to unlock fully. While progression will not carry over to the final game, players must play and unlock everything they can for testing purposes.
This will also grant players the ability to customise their Spartans & weapons! Fans will finally get their first taste of Halo Infinite‘s armour core and coatings, as well as the actual armour selection itself! It’s worth noting that the armour featured in the flight is only a sliver of what will be in the final game.
