Team 17 have unveiled a trailer for high intensity fps game Trepang2 as part of the Gamescom Future Games Show. Alongside developer Trepang Studios, Team 17 had onlookers on edge after viewing the gore-filled trailer.
Lasting just over a minute, the announcement trailer left little to imagination. The player appears to be trying to escape some sort of unknown facility. Using various abilities including slowing time and taking hostages, you must brute force your way through rooms filled with unsuspecting enemies.
The single player FPS will come available with both a story mode and a horde mode. This means those who want to put their limits to the test can experience unending waves of action. Trepang Studios themselves have featured a YouTube video on their website dubbing the game “The FEAR sequel we never got.”
Despite the title, the game isn’t a sequel. In addition, throughout the trailer, there is a recurring theme of revenge. There are recurring messages on screen including “make them all pay” and “no survivors”.
The trailer then takes an eerie turn, with the player exploring the facility on high alert with the soldiers already dead and blood painting the walls. The trailer then concludes with an image of a supernatural creature. This raises questions of just what facility the player is escaping from.
Trepang2 is scheduled for release at some point in 2022. It will be available for Steam PC and is currently available to be added to your Steam Wishlist.
