Most who know and follow the Dragon Ball franchise knows its long history of games, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is no exception. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an RPG styled game that follows the original Dragon Ball Z saga with certain new scenarios added that are exclusive to the game itself.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has recently announced that the game will be ported to the Nintendo Switch (called Dragon Ball Z Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set) along with new additions to the game. Some of these new additions are Gotenks and Vegito, who’ll be new playable characters. They come along with Sub-Quests to unlock them, and a new trailer has dropped to show them in action.
The trailer shows nothing particularly new in terms of overall gameplay, but it does show how they’ll play and what abilities they will have in combat.
With Gotenks, we can see that his abilities will be Super Ghost Kamikaze attack, Galactic Donuts, DIE DIE Missile Barrage, and Kamehameha. We also see that he will have two transformations: Super Saiyan 1 and Super Saiyan 3, keeping closer to the original anime and manga.
With Vegito, we see that his abilities will be Big Bang Attack, Spirit Sword, Kamehameha, and Split Finger Shot. It is unknown if the game will include Vegito’s base form, so this will remain to be seen. Unfortunately, there was no gameplay shown of the Sub-Quests to unlock them, so it will most likely be up to the player to see what those quests will entail.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set will be available on the Nintendo Switch on September 24th, 2021 and will be priced at $59.99. For those wondering if the other platforms will eventually get this DLC need not to worry, as it is stated in the beginning of the trailer that they will somewhere later this year. It’s time to get pumped once again and journey through another nostalgic round of the Dragon Ball Z saga!
