JanduSoft Games have revealed a trailer and physical release date for Astronite. The platformer game seems to take inspiration from past classics whilst still bringing new ideas to the Metroidvania genre.
Following the release of the announcement trailer, there is plenty of reason for excitement. Playing as an astronaut by the name of Astronite, you have the chance to explore a variety of planets in the retro black and white art style.
A Look At The Features
As expected from a Metroidvania game, much of the gameplay will match the rest of the genre. The player will jump, dash, shoot, and fly through planets. This won’t be without the help of power-ups to help defeat the variety of bosses.
In addition, make sure to pay attention to detail. Players will be rewarded with hidden pathways, items or improvements for solving the puzzles spread throughout planets. After reaching the end of a planet, the task is to beat the echo gates’ challenges, inspired by some of the game’s classic predecessors.
Further Game Features
However, the game is more than just navigating echo gates and boss challenges. The souls of enemies can be used as currency (shpirti) and spent in shops. Players can also demonstrate their prowess by competing in the fighting festival.
Moreover, Astronite is accompanied by music courtesy of ZeeWave Sound. This, alongside the art, perfectly captures the retro feel and themes of exploration.
Release Details
Furthermore, the release of Astronite has been confirmed for October 2022. As confirmed by the trailer, the game will be available in both physical and digital forms on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
