Enter the labs of Aperture Science for the first time, or relive old memories with Portal: Companion Collection from the Valve Corporation. Containing the original Portal and its sequel, Portal 2, the Companion Collection gives players the freedom to play these fantastic puzzle games on the go.
15 years of Portals, A Brief History
Initially released in 2007 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Portal changed how puzzle games were approached. Portal was created by mashing up the brainchildren of two talented teams of graduates from the DigiPen Institute of Technology. Narbacular Drop, in which the team had the idea of 2 interconnected portals. The other is Tag: The Power of Paint, where the surface paints found throughout the puzzles in Portal came from. While these concepts came from their senior projects, both of these teams had impressed Gabe Newell enough to land a job at Valve and funding for what later became Portal.
Companion Collection
In Portal, you’ll use a highly experimental device to solve physical puzzles and challenges. Manoeuvre objects–and yourself–through space to puzzle your way through the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories.
In Portal 2, you will return to Aperture Laboratories to face off again with the lethally sarcastic A.I. named GLaDOS. Think your way through dangerous, never-before-seen areas of the laboratories and a wider variety of portal puzzles. Doing so allows you to learn more about what happened inside Aperture Laboratories. Portal 2 also includes a cooperative game mode that introduces two new characters to the story of Aperture Laboratories. You and a friend can think with portals with local, split-screen, and online multiplayer.
After standing the test of time, then became a “must-play” title for anyone who wants to try gaming and create endless memes with their dark humour. Portal: Companion Collection brings these memories to a whole new platform and hopefully into the hands of an entirely new generation of gamers.
