Blizzard’s Overwatch has been seeing a lot of attention as of late, ever since it’s Beta arrived early last week.
The Overwatch open beta has beat out every other beta in the last year, including Star Wars: Battlefront, The Division and Destiny with over 9.7 Million players. For reference, Star Wars: Battlefront brought in roughly 9.5 Million players while The Division’s Open Beta brought in 6.4 Million players. Bungie’s Destiny doesn’t even hold up a light to it’s competition with only 4.64 Million players during it’s beta period.
These numbers go to show exactly how many players are willing to enjoy a piece of the game before it’s launch later in the year. If the beta numbers are any indication of how well Overwatch will do, Blizzard’s game may be one of the best selling games of 2016.
Overwatch will be available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC when it launches on May 24th, 2016.
