343 Industries will be releasing Forge – Halo 5: Guardians EditionĀ on Windows 10 later this year.
With built in Mouse and Keyboard support, Forge Mode for Windows 10 will allow players to create and test their newly built levels to play on Xbox One. While the full version of Halo 5: Guardians will not be ported over to PC,Ā it was mentioned that you canĀ create, test and play your custom maps with friends on Windows 10, allowing for some sort of multiplayer function to be made available when Forge Mode launches on PC.
“Since we released Forge in Halo 5 weāve seen so many amazing new things come from it ā from weird mini-games we could have never anticipated to meticulously crafted maps that are even approaching the visual quality of internally built maps.” Said Tom French, UGC director for 343 Industries. “The team has continued to wonder what weād get if we could put Forge in the hands of as many people as possible, and making it free on Windows 10 literally gives the chance to anyone who wants to jump in and try their hands at building a cool new map for Halo 5. Iām excited to see what the future content from the community will bring!”
The company also teased that new environments, props & pieces will be coming to Forge Mode in the near future, both for Xbox One and Windows 10.
