Microsoft has announced that ‘Mini-Games’ will be coming to Minecraft as part of a free update in June.
‘Battle’ will be the first mini-game featured on Minecraft, with more to be rolled out with future updates. The focus of this mode is to eliminate the possible complications that come with creating home-made mini-games with friends, taking away the manual countdowns, map set-ups and more that can get in the way of the experience.
The first game-mode, Battle, will be available starting in June. In ‘Battle’, players will square off against each other, either locally or online, in this player vs player competitive multiplayer experience. The goal is to become the last man standing using the randomly generated tools and weapons scattered throughout the three available maps. These maps have been specifically designed for the ‘Battle’ mini-game, with more maps planned to be released in the future.
