Update: The retailer Base.com has listed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Definitive Edition for the Xbox One and Playstation 4. According to the retailer, the game is set to launch on November 23rd, 2016.
Original: A known industry insider has spilled the beans regarding a possible rehash of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
While this can be marked as speculation, Shinobi602, a well-known industry insider was included in a new MrMattyPlays podcast when he mentioned that a remastered version of Skyrim is in the works and will be revealed during Bethesda’s E3 Press Conference. Shinobi602 stated in the podcast “You should expect a remaster of sorts… For something”.
According to the rumors, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remaster will include all of the pre-existing downloadable content release for the game, bundled with new visuals to give it that ‘next-generation’ feel.
Now, there was no true understanding on if he was talking about the fifth Elder Scrolls title being remastered, however with the amount of popularity that Skyrim digests, it’s almost a given that it would be a front-line title for a remastered version. To continue, Fallout 4 recently released mod support, which has been growing an increasing amount of buzz due to the success of that program – so perhaps the next game will contain mod support? Again, this is speculation.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in 2011.
