Sony’s next console code-named Playstation 4 Neo will not affect the current Playstation 4’s lifecycle.
In an interview with Gameswelt, President of worldwide studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida states “[The] new high-end PS4 is still PS4, so the life cycle is not going to be shorter.” This information mimics what Sony’s Andrew House stated when he mentioned that “It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4.”
With Sony executives now speaking more about the Playstation 4 Neo’s existence, it should be just a matter of time before we hear a formal announcement. People have been speculating that this announcement will come from this year’s Paris Game Show – scheduled to run from October 27th to the 31st.
Microsoft’s brand new console, currently named Project Scorpio has been announced to support the entire Xbox One lineup of software and accessories, therefore not limiting the Xbox One’s lifespan at all.
The Playstation 4 Neo is rumored to launch this Fall.
