There is a petition making it’s rounds on social media for the late Gordie Howe to grace the cover of EA’s NHL 17.
On June 10th, 2016, the world lost Gordie Howe, arguably one of the best players to play in the NHL. Since the petition went live, lots of people have taken to Twitter with the hashtag “#MrHockeyforNHL17” to show their support for Gordie Howe as NHL 17’s Cover Athlete. Those wishing to sign the petition can do so here.
The NHL 17 Cover Athlete will be announced during the NHL Awards tonight at 7 PM EST. Right now, the Cover Vote Athlete finalists are between San Jose Sharks’ Joe Pavelski and the St. Louis Blues’ Vladimir Tarasenko.
NHL 17 is scheduled to arrive on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 this September.
