With over six million votes cast in the NHL Cover Vote this year, Vladimir Tarasenko from the St. Louis Blues has been selected to appear on the cover art for NHL 17.
Revealed during the NHL awards today, Tarasenko beat out the captain of the San Jose Sharks Joe Pavelski for votes. What is remarkable is that both players squared off against each other during the Western Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the San Jose Sharks advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals when they were beat out by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
During the announcement of the cover athlete, EA Sports also revealed that a public beta of NHL 17 will be coming to the Xbox One and Playstation 4 next month. The beta will run from July 28th to August 4th and will be available for selected participants who register their interest here.
NHL 17 is scheduled to launch on September 13th, 2016 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
