As excitement builds for the recently announced upgrade system, the Xbox One “Scorpio”, fans will likely be excited to find out that many Microsoft is working with retailers in order to create a very appealing way to get one of the next big consoles at a more affordable price.
One thing every gamer knows about is the concept shared GameStop-wide: the trade in program (for example, you trade in your copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops and get some money off of a Battlefield 1 Pre-Order).  Great news, a very similar approach is being made with trading in the Xbox One for a Xbox One Scorpio!  While not all details of the program have been announced, it can be speculated that gamers can simply bring in their old Xbox One’s at time of payment in order to trade them in exchange for Xbox One Scorpio models at a cheaper price!
Recently in an interview, Microsoft’s Dave McCarthy can be quoted as saying  “Some of our retail partners today do trade-in programs and that’s definitely going to be partnerships we continue to move going forward.”  He further states “We are making a meaningful step with Project Scorpio in supporting 4K gaming.  But you don’t have to worry about that as a gamer, because the games you already own on Xbox One, the ones you’re going to buy this year and in the future will work across the family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S and Scorpio).  We haven’t always been able to do that at these generational bumps. Words of advice for those who are planning to take advantage of this deal however, it is recommended that gamers keep their controllers and games due to the fact that they will work on the new Xbox models (and re-buying games, controllers, and accessories has always proven to be a bit of a hassle).
At this time, the release date for the Xbox One Scorpio is Holiday 2017 and while we do not currently have a price for the system, gamers can rest well knowing that this new console will be more powerful than it’s predecessors.
