Update July 13th, 2016 at 9:51AM: Pokemon GO has just been released in Germany.
While Pokemon GO has taken over in popularity in multiple different regions around the world, the game will not be available for Canada and the UK until issues get resolved.
According to our sources, Pokemon GO has halted it’s worldwide distribution until the game’s server problems can be resolved. Over the past week, the game has been plagued with server problems and players around the world are frequently being told that “Our servers are experiencing issues. Please come back later.”
“We unfortunately cannot provide additional information regarding the game’s release in Canada at this time.” A representative from Niantic Labs’ PR team states. “We understand fans around the world are excited for the launch of Pokémon GO, but we encourage everyone to wait for the game to launch in their country to make sure the gameplay experience is optimized for their region.”
The move to delay the game due to the server issues may be smart, however, it isn’t stopping Canadian gamers from getting their hands on it. Thousands of players have already downloaded the game through third-party methods, which may be the reason for all of the server problems that Pokemon GO has been facing. Everyone at Informed Pixel is guilty of downloading the game and playing the game in our neighborhood.
Pokemon GO is currently available for iOS and Android devices in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
