Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky will contain no paid downloadable content.
According to the studio’s founder, Sean Murray, No Man’s Sky will feature free updates and patches absolutely free of charge. This has been a growing trend within the industry with 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians featuring free downloadable content for the life of the game.
“We do want to add a ton of features, like we’ve just discussed: Freighters, bases, these type of things. But we want to do it for free,” Murray said. “You’ve paid for the game, so you should get this stuff without paying even more money. So no, there will be no paid DLC, just patches.”
No Man’s Sky is currently available for the Playstation 4 and will be released on the PC (Via Steam) on August 12th, 2016.
