Nordic Games has announced that their new name will be THQ Nordic – in a move to reincorporate the company.
“Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name,” Newly named THQ Nordic stated in a press release. “Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IPs.”
THQ Nordic also states that they have 23 games currently in development, with 13 of those titles having yet to be announced. There is currently no information on when we will see these titles announced.
Before filing for Chapter 11 in 2012, THQ was responsible for published great franchises such as Saints Row, Darksiders, Homefront. The publisher was even scheduled to publish South Park: The Stick of Truth, however, due to concerns with financials, were unable to do so.
