Customers who have preordered Gears of War 4 through the Windows Store can now pre-download the game on Xbox One.
The download is an impressive 54GB in size, which will take up %15 of the available hard drive space in 500GB Xbox One consoles. This may prompt people to invest in additional storage solutions, making the Gears of War 4 Special Edition 2TB Xbox One S Console a tempting option. Of course, other options, such as external hard drives, will make for an affordable store option.
PC Gamers will still need to wait a while for updates regarding the preloading availability on Windows 10. Meanwhile, those who have purchased a copy of the game through the Windows 10 store should be able to pre-download the game on Xbox One thanks to the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Those who have purchased a copy of Gears of War 4, either on Xbox One or Windows 10, will be able to enjoy the game on both platforms without the need of purchasing a second copy.
Community Director for The Coalition, Adam Fletcher warns that because the game will be available in a couple of weeks, that fans will want to remain vigilant for spoilers. “Gears fans: Just a heads up, more spoilers may appear in the coming days. Stay vigilante if you want to keep things pure.” He said in a tweet.
Gears of War 4 will be available in retailers on October 11th, 2016. Those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will be allowed to enjoy the game four days early, starting on October 7th, 2016.
