Capcom is reportedly in development for the next title in the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
Sources told Polygon that an announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 4 would be appearing during the Playstation Experience Event this weekend. Specifically, the announcement should take place on Saturday, December 3rd during Capcom Cup 2016. Besides the information on the new development, no other details have been spoiled.
The developer’s license for Marvel’s characters expired in 2013, with all of the Marvel vs. Capcom titles pulled from their respective marketplaces. The only way to enjoy these titles now is through physical purchases.
At the time of this writing, Capcom has made no statement regarding the existence of Marvel vs. Capcom 4. We have reached out to Capcom representatives for more information.
Marvel vs. Capcom 4 is slated for release in 2017. The game’s platforms have yet to be decided.
