Capcom is partnering with Microsoft to make Resident Evil 7: Biohazard part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program.
RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard confirmed for @Xbox Play Anywhere – buy once, play on both Xbox One & @Windows 10 PC. https://t.co/yhcwjEnjla

It is the first time that a third-party title is offered through the program, with previous games like Recore, Gears of War 4, and Forza Horizon 3 developed by Microsoft’s first party studios. Perhaps this is a step for Microsoft to move their Play Anywhere feature to other third-party games, but nothing has been announced at the time of this writing.
Fans who purchase a digital copy of Resident Evil 7 on either Windows 10 or Xbox One, will receive a copy of the same game on their opposite platform thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard releases on January 24th, 2017 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
