Amazon is reporting that Grand Theft Auto IV sales have gone up by nearly 8,000% since yesterday’s backward compatibility announcement.
Since Rockstar Games brought Grand Theft Auto IV and all of it’s related downloadable content to the Xbox One, sales for the game have spiked on multiple marketplaces, with the biggest one showing on Amazon.com today. It isn’t the first time that a newly released backward compatible title has seen a sharp increase in sales. When Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare became backward compatible with the Xbox One, sales increased more than 6000% on Amazon, becoming one of Amazon’s best-selling games during that time.
Grand Theft Auto IV is available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
