Team Psychoz has canceled their upcoming title Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities Director’s Cut.
The development team announced the news through their official Facebook page earlier this morning. While there was an assortment of reasons for its cancellation, the team mentioned the mobile version of the game wouldn’t play well with consoles.
“After months of work on Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities Director’s Cut, and careful deliberation, we have made the decision to cancel this version of the game.” They said. “The main reasoning behind this is, the while base project started as a mobile game and even though we are very proud of the game we made, we decided perhaps the mobile format would not lend itself to consoles ( things like gameplay, scenario, direction didn’t fit well…)”
According to the developers, another reason why the game was canceled, at least for the Playstation Vita, was because it was a dying platform. In response to a fan on facebook, they said: “there won’t be any new Vita game from us because it’s an unsupported dying platform.”
In its place, codename Forgotten Memories Project will release for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on an undetermined date. The developer mentioned that the new project will still release for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, but no new title will be developed for the Playstation Vita, Nintendo Wii U, or Android devices, leaving some gamers disappointed.
Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities Director’s Cut was scheduled to launch for various platforms this year.
