343 Industries’ Bonnie Ross confirms that all future FPS titles will feature split-screen multiplayer.
Upon Halo 5: Guardians‘ release, many fans took to social media to tell their disappointments for the lack of split-screen gameplay. This reached the development team at 343 Industries, who suffered a lot of backlash from the community for the lack of support.
Ross mentioned that the development team had some “painful learning” from the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which struggled to maintain their servers over the first few months.
The lack of split-screen multiplayer was a first for the Halo series, and the potential reason for the lack of support was because of Halo 5’s focus on delivering 60 frames per second.
The next Halo title is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
