Microsoft may be looking to bring Halo 3 to PC shortly as AMD used the game’s artwork in some of their promotional materials last weekend.
While it is speculation, AMD showed off some games that could run off of the new R5 CPU’s. In the reel, several pictures of games were shown including Bungie’s Halo 3, pointing to the possible release of the game on PC. Unfortunately, AMD didn’t extrapolate on the picture, and neither AMD or Microsoft have made a comment about Halo 3 coming to PC.
There is a rumor going around that Microsoft will unveil Halo 3 Anniversary as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, capable of supporting up to 4K resolutions with the help of their newest console, the Project Scorpio. If the rumor checks out, we could see a remastered version of Halo 3 launch for the Xbox One, Project Scorpio, and PC later this year. This year also marks Halo 3’s 10-year anniversary, with the game originally being released on September 25th, 2007.
Of course, none of this is confirmed, so take this information with a grain of salt. We should hear more about Microsoft’s plans for the Halo franchise during their E3 Press Conference on Sunday, June 11th, 2017, at 2 PM PT.
Halo 3 is available for the Xbox 360 and through the Xbox One’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
