A new Darksiders title appears to be in development for next-generation platforms.
Online retailer Amazon posted the game’s official sale page earlier today, ahead of any announcements or reveals by the publisher. This comes to somewhat of a surprise as it has been a few years since we were greeted with the release of Darksiders 2, published by THQ at the time. Now, it appears that the newly restructured THQ Nordic has obtained the publishing rights for the game’s third installment.
In Darksiders 3, players will play the role of FURY, a mage who relies heavily on her whip and magical abilities to defeat her foes in battle. She appears to be a deadly warrior, and, as shown in the screenshots of the game, looks to carry all sorts of attitude. Here is the game’s summary, ripped from Amazon’s retail page itself:
“Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.”
The placeholder release date for Darksiders 3 is December 31st, 2018, indicating that it will be a couple of years until we see the game on retail shelves. We expect to hear from THQ Nordic within the coming days regarding an official announcement about Darksiders 3‘s release.
Darksiders 3 will supposedly release for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
