Game developer Ghost Games took to their official blog to talk about the future of the Need for Speed series; specifically, their upcoming title Need for Speed 2017.
First, we know that the game will launch sometime before the end of the year, hence the given code name “Need for Speed 2017“. While specifics were not announced, the next Need for Speed title will support deep customization to the vehicles; Fine-tuned to the way the player wants it.
“Customization, we love it, you love it, everyone loves it. What’s not to love? Rest assured that we’re committed to customization having a home within the Need for Speed series. It’s not going away and it will play as strong a role as ever as we move forward into the next game and beyond.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be Need for Speed without the presence of Cops. From the sound of it, the pursuits will be returning in Need for Speed 2017, while you attempt to drive around every corner, burning rubber to your heart’s content.
One feature commonly criticized in the previous game was the fact that the game required an online connection to play, even when playing single-player modes. Ghost Games announced that the up and coming Need for Speed game can be enjoyed offline, without the need of an internet connection, something that will please fans upon its release.
There are still a lot of details we still don’t know about the game, but Ghost Games promises that we will hear a lot more information during this year’s EA Play.
Need for Speed 2017 is scheduled to release this year for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
